This is my first attempt at making an infographic. The infographic is called “20 Tips for your Facebook Business Page” and I hope you’ll find it useful. I’ll be really greatful if you leave your comments at the end of this post.
1. Provide enough information about your business
Before making anything else, make sure you provide all the important information about your business. This includes: comprehensive description, email, phone number, website, address
2. Choose a suitable cover image
Since it is the most watched item on your facebook page, the cover image is crucial for making a good first impression. Colorful images and images with faces attract the most attention. Choose the best suitable image according to the specifics of your business.
3. Use appropriate profile picture, that stands out
Just like the cover photo, the profile picture is one of the most important parts of your facebook page. The profile picture is shown in the newsfeed too. Therefore, make sure that your profile picture is easily recognizable.
4. Facebook is all about conversation
Answer as many questions as you can. Chat with your followers in the comments of your posts. This is a good way to increase the engagement of your fans. Furthermore you create a feeling that there are ordinary people behind your facebook page, just like your fans.
5. Engage your audience
It’s not about the number of likes! The number of users that are engaging with your facebook page is the metric that matters. You will increase the number of likes subsequently. Strive to maintain a dialogue with the fans. Ask them questions. Post quality content that can get not only likes, but shares too.
6. Be visual
The overall social media user likes images! According to studies, publications with images are most liked and shared.
7. Post diverse content
Make your fans’ time on social media much more interesting by posting different articles, polls, videos, images and whatever else you can think of. Stay diverse and try to surprise your audience each time you post on your facebook page.
8. Stay specific
Let’s face it – users don’t like long and boring posts. Huge percent of the users won’t even try to read these posts. Make your publications concise, accurate and clear. By doing so you will increase the overall engagement of your users. And this is a good thing!
9. Don’t post too much on a single day
According to social media experts, the optimal number of posts on a single day is between 2-4. Get to know your audience and post content that will grab their attention. Try not to spam your fans’ newsfeed, because they will unlike your page.
10. Be helpful
Users like interesting publications. Show your fans something really cool, or just make them laugh. Post content that makes sense.
11. Be honest with your audience
Life in social media is just like real life. Users will appreciate when you’re honest and hate you when you lie to them. You probably know that the number of people that will write you a negative comment is way higher than the number of people that will write a positive comment. So don’t give reasons to be hated.
12. Be persistent
Your fans like your page, because they want to know what’s happening with your business. Be consistent and give your audience the needed information.
13. Use reasonable moderation
Delete all the spam, but don’t touch the negative comments. This will result in more of those negative comments and you don’t want that. Try to find the source of this negativism and correct your mistakes. Apologize if needed! This will make your business’ social media account more human.
14. Stay up to date with Facebook changes
Facebook is a social network that evolves each and every day. Try to adapt to those changes, so you can be relevant to your audience.
15. Don’t automate your Facebook presence
Many Facebook pages are updated through RSS feeds or Twitter updates. Don’t make this mistake! Your fans want to be in contact with your business on Facebook. If they want to read your Twitter updates, they will follow you on Twitter.
16. Write grammatically correct posts
There are people that just don’t like illiterate posts. And there is a reason for that. Illiterate posts give a bad impression.
17. Get to know Facebook Insights
Facebook Insights is a really useful tool and it’s quite simple to learn. Study the metrics of your page and makeconclusions based on them. Understand which time is best for posting on Facebook, what type of content your fans engage with etc.
18. Value each like
Each organic like is really important for your business. Users who engage with your content are the ones that matter most. This will increase your Edge Rank and your publications will reach more people. So try to attract users that are relevant to your business.
19. Use Facebook Ads
Your facebook presence is doomed if you don’t want to spend on advertising. Target the right users and experiment with different ads. Analyze the results. This will reduce your advertising costs and increase your ads’ efficiency.
20. Promote your Posts
Each Facebook post has a certain duration. Once this duration expires, your post is no more visible to the users. Promoting your publications is a great way to reach larger number of people.
