Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update for HTC One Rolling Out Officially

Posted on 23:14 by Unknown
After we’ve heard a couple of days ago that the dual-SIM variant of the Taiwanese flagship smartphone got updated to the latest Android version, today we arrive with good news for the owners of the international model, as the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One is now rolling out.

You might also want to know that, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for HTC One has been pushed for the Taiwanese users for the time being, but just like it happens with any other software update the roll out is made gradually. Therefore, we are expecting the HTC One models all around the world to get the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update, soon, if they didn’t already.

Since there are already more than 5 million HTC One units sold world wide the news saying that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is now rolling out will definitely be warmly welcomed by most of the users, especially by those who wanted lockscreen widgets and the Quick Settings button in the Notifications area.

But what are the improvements and changes of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One? I’m glad you’ve asked. Once you update your HTC One to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean you will be enjoy an improved launcher bar, rearrangement of the widgets panel, a redesigned lockscreen, and, of course, lockscreen widgets. You will also be able to display the battery percentage in the status bar, get access to the Quick Settings area (which will allow you to quickly turn on and off different functions of the smartphone). The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for HTC One also brings some minor improvements for the camera app.

You might also want to know that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for HTC One update file is sized 465 MB, therefore we are recommending you to download it while connected to a WiFi Hotspot in case you don’t want your data plan consumption to suffer.

Even though haven’t received the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update notification yet, it’s worth checking for it manually. In order to do so head to Settings > About Device > Software Update > Check for updates then follow the on-screen instructions.

The HTC One was officially introduced by the Taiwanese phone maker in February 2013 and it was coming pre-loaded with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The smartphone packs a 4.7-inch Super LCD3 display with full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 2 protection, while sporting 2 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage.

The processing tasks are handled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC with quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU. In terms of connectivity the HTC One comes with HSPA+; LTE, Cat3, 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC chip, IR blaster, and microUSB 2.0.

While most of its rivals come with 13 megapixel camera sensors (see Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, and LG Optimus G Pro), the HTC One features a 4 megapixel UltraPixel sensor with autofocus, LED flash, 1/3” sensor size, 2µm pixel size, simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, optical image stabilization, and full HD video recording capabilities with HDR, stereo sound recording, and video stabilization.

Samsung Reportedly Planning Galaxy Memo, a Shrunken Galaxy Note 3

Posted on 22:56 by Unknown
The details about the Samsung Galaxy Memo aren’t official yet, but the pictures below that were revealed by the guys Sammobile look like the real deal. Synchronized with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date, the South Korea-based company may surprise us this fall and introduce to us the Galaxy Memo model.
Personally, I’m not the biggest fans of the smartphones that get close to the size of the tablets, but the Samsung Galaxy Memo might be a great alternative for those who want a stylus but not a gigantic display.

Sammobile writes that the Samsung Galaxy Memo will come with a 4.5-inch full HD display with TFT LCD technology, while running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Of course we are expecting the TouchWiz Nature UX interface on top of it with most of the Galaxy S4 goodies, but my guess is that the Galaxy Memo will also borrow some of Samsung Galaxy Note 3′s S Pen-specific features.
It seems that the smartphone will be powered by a 1.4 GHz CPU in quad-core configuration, it will sport 2 GB of RAM, while the rear-facing camera will have an 8 megapixel sensor.

The display resolution of the Samsung Galaxy Memo might actually be a problem for the South Korean company, as it doesn’t fit with the smartphone’s sides ratio. The first Samsung Galaxy Note had an aspect ration of 16:10, so the Galaxy Memo must have a resolution of 1,200 x 1,920 pixels.

Some of the Sammobile readers have noticed that the image on Galaxy Memo’s display presents an interface in two languages, English and Korean, therefore the pictures we are looking at might be the result of a Galaxy Note fanboy’s PotoShop session. Like usual, we are advising you to take the report with a grain of salt.

The case of the alleged Samsung smartphone seems like a perfect copy of the Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone of the South Korean phone maker.

In terms of technical specifications, it s hard to believe that Samsung will not use an AMOLED display for the Galaxy Memo, especially that it will be a handset people will purchase because they can draw on it with a stylus.

Until more reports about the Samsung Galaxy Memo are making the headlines, I will be circumspect regarding the details above.

Do you believe that the Samsung Galaxy Memo is real? Or is it just a HOAX of a fanboy? Does the smartphone market need a terminal like the one in the gallery blow? How about its technical specifications? Would you buy it yourself? We are inviting you to answer all these questions in the comments section below and share your thoughts with us and other Android enthusiasts.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Will Come with Improved Notifications, Has Support for Google Glass and Smartwatch, Too

Posted on 23:05 by Unknown
While we are still waiting for Android 4.3 to be officially unveiled, we have new information about Google’s next OS version. It seems that Android 4.3 might have a totally reworked notification system, at least that is what a leaked Android 4.3 version (which can be already installed on some handsets) shows.

If we are to believe the folks at Android Police, Android 4.3 includes some new notification code, which will basically let third-party applications to duplicate the notification panel. In other words, other handsets paired with a smartphone or tablet that runs Android will be granted access to the notifications.

Nevertheless, the same website suggests that available Android 4.3 code shows that third-party applications will not be supported, at least not right away. Those kind of apps will not be allowed to read notifications as mentioned, which is due to the set permissions that are too high for third-party applications. Further, the permissions will accept just system applications and Google/OEM applications to read the notifications.

It seems that Google is getting its operating system ready to be accessed by other portable gadgets, not just the smartphone and tablets. And one reason why the internet giant is modifying Android notifications beginning with Android 4.3 is because the company will soon be launching Google Glass. Also, there is another gadget rumored to be in the works, namely an Android smartwatch.

Besides the two Google branded gadgets, there are other devices that can be used in the same way. For example, the Pebble smartwatch could access the brand new notification system included in Android 4.3. The users will be allowed to perform actions related to the notifications they receive directly from the mentioned portable gadgets, which, of course, will have to be connected to the Android handsets.

Furthermore, the developers might be allowed to make their own custom notification panels, and users will be able to choose an alternative to the default one. Put differently, the smartphone and tablet users could utilize the stock Android notification panel rather than the panel that come as default on their handset. Still, it looks like there is still a long to go until it could be possible.

Anyway, there is no easy task for the applications which presently need to access notifications, thus the changes that might be made to the notification system of Android 4.3 will certainly help a lot.

Another interesting thing is the fact that Android 4.3 also features a notification history, which will display the users the current notifications and the past ones all together. I don’t know if the notification history has anything to do with the Google Glass timeline feature, but they are definitely similar. The timeline feature basically stores all the actions performed with Google Glass, and the database can be later accessed.

All in all, even though we may know many changes that will come along with Android 4.3, like the notification panel, the Roboto font enhancements, and other improvements, the OS is yet to be official. We expect more novelties to be featured considering the time it takes Google to release Android 4.3.

Perfect Galaxy S4 Mini With The Miniature of the Mass S4

Posted on 10:56 by Unknown
Samsung is already one of the most popular mobile brands on the planet, with the Galaxy being a common device in the hands and thoughts of many. In a move to no doubt acquire more market share, Samsung is planning to release more phones—variants of its S4 line. These phones are going to be called the S4 Mini, the S4 active, and the S4 zoom. This article will talk about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and provide insight on what to expect.

Who should opt for Galaxy S4 Mini?

Some of you may be wondering what is the purpose of producing a smaller version of the Galaxy S4? The answer to that is simple: to capitalize off the success of the flagship device by providing a less costly alternative that also satisfies a section of the market worried about the trend of phones getting bigger.

Well, this might not be the original picture of the device. But, all Galaxy Devices look alike apart from their sizes.

If you look around you’ll notice that many people are carrying pretty large phones. While you will no doubt get a dazzling display with a 5-inch phone and a very large resolution, the issue becomes mobility: people’s hands aren’t all the same size and so everyone won’t feel comfortable operating a large screen device single handed-ly; also, phones are known for being easily stored in one’s pocket, so if putting your phone away becomes a hassle because of a large screen then people will really start to resist the device. This coupled with a high-end phone’s initial price offering creates a gap in the market, one that Samsung aims to fill.

So, in what way the Samung Galaxy S4 Mini is smaller than the S4?

The Galaxy S4 Mini is a lower-end phone compared to the standard S4, this means that the specs of this product isn’t as high and consequently neither is the price. The specs. for the S4 Mini are as follows:
Screen Size: The S4 Mini has a 4.3-inch screen size compared to the 5-inch screen of the regular S4. The thing is, a 4.3-inch screen is hardly “mini” by most people’s standards—for example, the iPhone 5 (the most recent one) has a 4-inch screen.
CPU: The S4 will have a dual-core chip that runs at 1.7 GHz. The regular S4 has a range of quad-core chips that go from 1.2 GHz to 1.9 GHz. While having more cores is better for handling resource intensive tasks, a dual-core chip isn’t nearly the step down as many people believe.
GPU: This device will have an Adreno 305, which if you do a little bit of digging is quite a nice graphics processor to have as it is said to bring Xbox 360 graphics to your phone.
Operating System: Android 4.2.2 a.k.a Jelly Bean. This is the latest and greatest operating system from Google and is also the same one present in the standard S4.
RAM: 1.5 GB of random access memory serves this miniature version of the S4. The regular S4 only has .5 GBs more for a total of 2GB of RAM.
Internal Storage: It will have 8GB of memory to store data on. This is on the lower-end of the memory spectrum as the regular S4 starts at 16GB and can go up to 64GB.
Camera: The S4 will have a nice 8 megapixel rear camera that has a range of features that you’d expect on a high-end phone camera. The only thing that is missing is some extra megapixels as the regular S4 comes in at 13.
Video Camera: Able to take high definition 1080p video is one of the things that the S4 Mini has in common with the regular S4.
Taking a look at these specs, you’ll be hard pressed to actually consider this too much of a step down. With connectivity offering on par with the Galaxy S4 there isn’t really anything to separate the 2 save for a few digits here and there.

Conclusion of the author:-

The price for the S4 Mini is currently unknown, but it can be assumed that it will be somewhat of a deal breaker: if the phone isn’t that much cheaper than the regular S4 then you might as well take the extra value that comes with better specs, however, if the price warrants the step down in performance Samsung might have a winner on its hands. But the news we got was that it won’t have a mini price tag, let’s wait for the accurate Samsung Galaxy S4 mini price in India. Hope you enjoyed it. Have you read the in-depth review of Lava Iris 458q? If not, do read it. We have bulk of articles coming up next for you people out there. Stay Tuned.

HTC One Mini Release Date is Q3 2013, Claims DigiTimes

Posted on 23:19 by Unknown
Samsung moved really quick when it came to transforming the Galaxy S4 brand into a whole range of smartphones, so the South Koreans introduced the Galaxy S4 Mini (which is, of course, a shrunken Galaxy S4 with mid range specifications), the Galaxy S4 Active (similar to the S4 flagship, but with dust and water protection), and the Galaxy S4 Zoom (which boasts an impressive 16 megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom).
Rumor has it that HTC will have a similar approach wit the One, as it was reported that the Taiwan-based phone maker will introduce a HTC One Mini (a direct competitor of the Galaxy S4 Mini) and a new model with a larger display, unofficially dubbed HTC One Max, which will aim at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 and the recently announced Xperia Z Ultra.

Today we will be talking about the mid-ranger of the aforementioned line-up, the HTC One Mini. Taiwanese sources close to HTC, quoted by DigiTimes, claim that the HTC One Mini release date has been set for Q3 2013, synchronized with the market debut of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini rival. Apparently, a similar approach has been adopted by other Asian companies, reports indicating that both Lenovo and Hawai are planning mini variants of their flagship devices.

It seems that even Apple is considering the launch of a low-cost iPhone, with sources saying that the Cupertino-based company is readying an affordable iOS-powered smartphone with plastic case which will debut in the fall.

The rumor mill also speculates about the technical specifications of the HTC One Mini. It is believed that the upcoming HTC mid-range handset will sport a 4.3-inch display with HD resolution (most likely an LCD panel) and that it will be underpinned processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. Even though the exact model wasn’t confirmed, the tech publications are anticipating that we are talking about Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chipset.

HTC One will reportedly sport 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, while running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. There are a lot of controversies regarding the camera unit of the HTC One Mini: while some sources say it will borrow the 4 megapixel UltraPixel camera of its bigger brother, others say that it will come with an 8 megapixel sensor that lacks UltraPixel technology.

Some leaked photos have revealed that the HTC One Mini will follow the same design language of the HTC One flagship, which will make the smartphone a popular choice for the users who want a mid-range smartphone with a premium look.

If most of the above rumors are true and the HTC One Mini comes with a decent hardware platform and the looks of the original HTC One, then the yet unannounced terminal will definitely be among the overachievers of the 2013 smartphone world. Anyway, since there is no confirmation from HTC, we are advising you to take the DigiTimes reports with a pinch of salt, as the Korean publication doesn’t have a straight-up accurate record when it comes to unveiling details about unannounced smartphones.

Well, both devices are offered by Google with free delivery. They are to get shipped on or before July 9. Google first announced the Nexus variant of Samsung’s flagship phone at its developer conference in May 2013. Though HTC then denied chance for a similar diversion for its One flagship, Google in a few weeks went on to announce a HTC One variant of the Nexus as well.

As a result, we have two belligerent stock Android phones now. They are known for their quad core CPUs, 1080p displays, breath-taking cameras and other advanced features. Google fans will really love these gadgets as pure Android phones with high-end specs.

ZTE Open With Firefox OS Release Date, Specs And Price Officially Revealed

Posted on 23:23 by Unknown
Today is the day when the ZTE Open is supposed to be launched in Spain. The device runs Firefox OS developed by Mozilla, and while we were expecting to be a cheap product, it’s actually cheaper that we’ve thought. The ZTE Open will be sold by local carrier Telefonica for only €69 (around $99) without a contract. But wait, besides being this cheap, the offer also includes €30 worth of pay as you go credit, which is really awesome. For those who want to buy the ZTE Open with a contract with Telefonica, will have to pay only €2.38 a month.

In case you are not familiar with the specs of the handset, you should know that it comes with a 3.5-inch screen that has a pixel resolution of 480 x 320. It also includes 125 MB of RAM, 512 MB of internal storage, a Cortex-A5 CPU clocked at only 1 GHz, a 3.2 MP primary camera, support for 2G and 3G connectivity, plus a bundled 4 GB microSD card, which is very helpful considering that the on-board storage space is far from being enough. Anyway, as you can see the ZTE Open can be categorized as a very low-end smartphone with no hopes for performance whatsoever, but considering its small price it’s a pretty good deal. Plus, its main attraction is the fact it runs Firefox OS, no doubt about it.

Some people may think that Mozilla is aiming to compete with Android, but at this point it can’t even if the company wants to. It’s clear that the Firefox OS based phones are meant for different markets considering the price tags. Plus, the people at Mozilla have even admitted that they don’t want to be a competition for Android, but just offer an alternative.

Returning to the ZTE Open, the device can’t be compared with any of the current Android smartphones on the market when it comes to hardware. Yes, the cheapest Android handsets around are more expensive than the ZTE Open, but they offer a lot more decent specs. In fact, the handsets running Firefox OS can barely be called smartphones, so there is absolutely no chance that they can rival the Android devices.

However, I’m not saying that the ZTE Open is a bad phone, not at all. Actually, people who are looking for a practical product that gives access to the internet and don’t want to spend a lot of money on a smartphone, could seriously think of the ZTE Open as a viable option. Of course, it won’t be the only option on the market because there are a few similar products. For example, the Vodafone Smart Min is also a budget friendly phone that runs Google’s OS, and can be bought for a similar price as the ZTE Open. However, this is just a tiny segment of the market and Android phone makers are not so worried about it.

All in all, the ZTE Open can be appealing in the budget orientated market as the low price is certainly one of its strong points.

Posted on 20:10 by Unknown
A duo of new Windows Phone 8 handsets is on their way to the Sprint’s 4G LTE this summer. The devices from HTC and Samsung, respectively HTC 8XT and Samsung ATIV S Neo, are slight upgrades to their former variants like HTC Windows Phone 8X and Samsung ATIV S. Some upgrades and new features make them fresh handsets for Windows Phone 8 fans.
The HTC 8XT is a 4.3-inch handset with a WVGA resolution and a powerful Snapdragon 400 chip, which comes inside a 1.4GHz dual core Krait CPU. Other internals include 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory, and microSD slot for expanding memory further. It will draw juice from 1800mAh battery.

At the same time, the ATIV S Neo, similar to the ATIV S, has a 4.8-inch display of 720p resolution. It is equipped with almost the identical dual-core 1.4GHz processor, 1GB of RAM a 2000mAh battery. It will also offer NFC connectivity and a 1.9MP front-facing camera.

Sprint hasn’t exposed when the devices will go for sale. The carrier has just mentioned that it would come this summer. Meanwhile, on-contract price for the devices is $99 for HTC 8XT (after $50 rebate), and $149 for ATIV S Neo (after $50 rebate).

It is a time many Windows Phone 8 devices are coming to the front. It is going to be a nice time for Windows Phone 8 as long as Nokia and other Microsoft OEMs are reportedly ready to surface some fresh WP 8 models. Apart from the above two devices, both Samsung and HTC are rumored to be working on some other brand new version of Windows phones as well.

By the way, Nokia also continues its streak of producing quality Windows Phone 8 devices. After two superb variants – the Lumia 925 and Lumia 928 – to its current flagship Lumia 920, the Finnish firm is about to surface a camera-centric high-end phone the Lumia 1020 (EOS) early next month.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra vs Galaxy Mega 6.3 Vs Huawei Ascend Mate 6.1: Specs comparison

Posted on 19:59 by Unknown
We all know that it is an era of large-screen smartphones. From mere 5 inches, the range of a typical phablet has grown up to 6 inches or larger. Recently, we happened to see the rollout of three superb phablets with displays sized over 6 inches. They are Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra with a 6.4-inch display, and Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Huawei’s Ascend Mate 6.1 respectively with 6.3 and 6.1 inches. Here goes our comparison of these three amazing phablets.

Display Screen: Sony’s new Xperia phablet comes with a 6.4-inch display that packs a staggering resolution of 1080p FullHD at 342-ppi. This is now the world’s biggest smartphone or phablet with a matchless 6.4-inch size. The Samsung Mega 6.3, at the same time has a 6.3-inch display and the Ascend Mate has a bit smaller 6.1-inch display with both of them having the same 720 x 1280 pixels respectively at 233ppi and 243ppi.

Winner: Sony Xperia Z Ultra, thanks to better screen size, high resolution and high-end technologies.
Dimensions: The Xperia phablet touts the dimensions of 179.4 x 92.2 x 6.5mm and it has a weight of 212g. The Mega 6.3 measures at 167.6 x 88 x 8mm, whereas the Mate 6.3 has 163.5 x 85.7 x 9.9mm as overall size. These two devices respectively have a weight of 199 and 198g, however. See, though a bit weightier due to its large size, the Sony phablet wins with a superbly thin body at a staggering 6.5mm.

Winner: Sony Xperia Z Ultra, thanks to its superbly better 6.5mm body.
Processor, RAM & GPU: Sony has really stunned analysts with a significantly powerful processor, RAM and graphical card in its phablet. The company has integrated the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip inside a quad core 2.2GHz Krait 400 processor, which is supported by 2GB RAM and a strapping Adreno 330 graphical processor. Its built-in memory goes at 16GB, plus it has microSD slot for further storage expansion.

Meanwhile, the Mega 6.3 is built around a 1.7GHz dual core CPU that packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and is backed by 1GB RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU. Its internal memory is 8GB and it also has microSD sot. Whereas, the Mate 6.1 is powered by a 1.5GHz quad core processor, which is drawing vigor from a Hi-Silicon K3V2 + Intel XMM6260 chip, and it is rich with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It also has expandable memory options through microSD slot.

Winner: Sony Xperia Z Ultra, thanks to a Snapdragon 800 chipset.
Camera: All the models in debate are equipped with 8MP rear cameras. The Sony phablet however drops LED flash, but all can record video at 1080p in help of nearly all sophisticated camera features. Well, when it comes to camera specific features, Xperia ZU seems to have some edge as long as it shows off things like back-illuminated sensor (BSI), digital image stabilization, face detection, panorama, self-timer and a lot more.

The front facing camera of the Sony, Samsung and Huawei phablets go respectively at 2MP, 1.9MP and 1MP units. In fact, it is not easy to find a winner in this category, because all devices highlight all major camera attributes, but many analysts have lauded the Sony camera because, even lacking LED flash, it is up with many exciting features.

Price, Availability: Price of the Xperia phablet hasn’t been formally made public. Sony has just said that the device would come to stores in Q3 this year, and no price details are discussed so far. Meanwhile, both the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Ascend Mate 6.1 have been in various stores for a while. They are priced almost identical; the Mate 6.1 is available for something around $500, while the Mega 6.3 is valued at nearly $550.

Lava Iris 458q Review - Is it the Quad Core you are looking for?

Posted on 11:13 by Unknown
Lava Iris 458q is one of the trending low budget phone, because of it’s 1.2 GHz Quad Core feature. Everyone had questioned me , whether is it worth or not? I’ve been noticing phones from Micromax, Karbonn, XOLO, Lava and other secondary companies. They launch phones with high specifications in a low price and compete it with top level companies like Samsung, Nokia, Sony etc. And this post is all about the review of Lava Iris 458q, another damn cheap phone with heavy specification. I was just shocked when I saw the price tag, and you’ll be too! The stunning feature in this phone is, it arrives with 1.2 GHz Quad core processor, there isn’t a phone below Rs. 10, 000 with Quad core. This the first phone of Lava running with Quad core processors. You would have seen many Lava Iris 458q unboxing videos at YouTube or specs at GSMarena, Gogi. But I would have covered the main points which you would come to know only by reviewing it in-depth.

Have a look at the brandy Quad Core phone which comes into the market at damn cheap price – Lava Iris 458Q

Display

I’ll call this as the perfectly sized device, it comes with 4.5 Inches display, which fits into anybody hands compact. I’ve used 5 Inches phone like Galaxy Grand, those phones are awesome in design, but when it comes to usage, you have to stress yourself to have the phone in your hands while you are in bed, or listening to music and other stuffs. As I said, the phone has a 4.5 Inches IPS LCD display and 480*854 FWVGA resolution and supports up to 16 Million colors. Many companies offer capacitive touchscreen, but when they are used, you have to RUB your hands to make a swipe, but this screen has no issues about the touch. The only slight disadvantage is the screen glares under direct sunlight. I won’t recommend it for extreme outdoor use. Rest than that, everything is fine.

Operating System

Lava Iris 458q comes packed with Android 4.2 OS, which it the latest at present. There are only countable number of phones in the market running with Android 4.2, and those phones are highly expensive. We all hope that, Lava Iris 458q receive continuous Android updates from the company.

Performance

Here is where the important part, the phone comes with 1.2 GHz Quad Core cortex A7 Processor, which is more then enough to run high end games and heavy applications. The GPU is powered by PowerVR SGX544MP for seamless gaming.

Storage

The phone comes with an internal storage of 2GB and the user memory will also be around 2GB. You can store tons of apps in the internal memory for 2GB. If you think, it isn’t enough, you have the second chance, use your SD card and expand the storage upto 32GB. About the memory, the phone has a 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, the RAM could be made as 1GB, anyway, you can’t expect these much features for a cheap price.

Camera

Here is the part where every Android user including me get disappoints. The phone comes with 8MP Camera, but the quality of the camera is just like 5MP, you can’t expect anything more than Quad core.

At the back, you can see the 8MP Camera, LED Flash near to it. and also the brandy model name embedded there.

It has a LED flash and all other traditional features like Smile Detection, Panorama, Auto Focus etc. If you are a good photographer, go for HTC One, it comes with UltraPixel camera but priced at Rs. 40,000. You could go with DSLR instead. Anyway, the choice is yours! The phone has a 0.3 MP Camera at the front, for video calling and those stuffs.

Battery

The phone comes with 2000mAH, which can give lift upto 5-6 hours of extreme usage under Wi-Fi. If you want a better battery life, you can download any Battery Saver app from the Play Store.

Connectivity

The phone supports Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, A-GPS just like the other phones do.

Pre-loaded Apps

The phone comes pre-loaded with all necessary apps.

The phone comes with some apps installed like Saavn, Cricket Fever, WeChat, PayTm, MX Player and still you can download your favorite ones from the Play Store. Don’t forget, the play store contains more than 7Lakh Applications. That’s Huge.. Right?

Dual SIM

Here comes an important point, I am not talking about the Dual SIM Feature. As you know, the phone supports Dual SIMs and there are two slots for two SIMs. The SIM 1 Slot supports GSM Network, while the SIM2 supports CDMA Network. Now, both users can make use of the phone.

Sensors

Above the display, the top panel consists of the necessary Sensors like the Ambient Light, Motion, Proximity and the Gravity Sensor.

Price in India

The phone comes with a price tag of Rs. 8,500 at the major online stores in India like Flipkart, Infibeam. You can bargain a bit in local stores in your city.

Alternatives of this phone

You don’t need any alternative for this phone, but still you can try XOLO Q700, Karbonn S1. If you have a bit high budget, you can do for the Micromax Canvas Series.

Pros:

Cheap Quad Core phone
SIM card supports both GSM and CDMA Network
8MP Camera
Jumbo Battery
Android 4.2

Cons:

RAM could be better
No accessories in the box like Back Panel, Flip cover.
Low Camera quality

Final Verdict of reviewer:

I would just define this phone in two words “Must Buy”. The disadvantages mentioned above contains silly things, which wont matter to you while the phone is in usage. The phone has a good build quality having a dimension of 133.5 x 67 x 11.9 mm and has a 3.5 mm jack. It is available in only one color, and it is the awesome black. The phone looks pretty good in all aspects. I don’t see anything Big disadvantage on Lava Iris 458q. You can buy it with your eyes closed for just Rs. 8,500 in your favorite online store.

Nokia EOS is Nokia Lumia 1020: Specs, features, release date details

Posted on 20:12 by Unknown
The much-talked-about Nokia camera-centric Windows phone is likely to be included in the Lumia line contrary to the past rumors. The device for a while has been touted as Nokia EOS, but now a tipster says that it will come with a brand name of Lumia 1020. It simply means that the device will be leading the Lumia series as a flagship. Currently, the Lumia 920 and its variants the 925 and 928 are considered as flagships.

It is Evleaks, a Twitter-based gizmo gossiper, has broken up the rumor. As it has proven its credibility in predictions, there is a god reason we trust in the new rumor. And, so the device would be named ‘EOS = Nokia Lumia 1020,’ making it yet another high-end addition to the Finnish firm’s latest series of Lumia phones running Windows Phone 8.

Earlier, analysts thought that Nokia would be working with yet another brand name for its Windows Phone 8 series. So it would have one more lineup of Windows Phone 8-based handsets with better cameras. But, the new report gives credence for the chance that the company has decided to continue with the same pattern of naming its devices. And, thus we will be getting the Nokia EOS with the official name of Lumia 1020.

Nokia has almost confirmed the upcoming handset, and it has declared a media event for it on July 11. Though the company hasn’t officially said what it would put on display at the event, its press invite has a clear hint on the gadget in its statement that there would be “41 reasons” to wait for the device, which is to be declared at the event.

What the tech world expects for the Nokia EOS is to highlight is a 41MP PureView rear camera, the same one you are familiar with 808 PureView, a Symbian-based Nokia flagship. So it may be an interesting read to relate the 41 reasons with the 41 megapixels, and thus the device for display at the media event would be Nokia Lumia 1020.
